Old postcard from around 1900, showing the Parochial House at St Tierneys,Rosslea.

St Tierneys RC Church stands on the outer edge of the village of Roslea.

Built in 1830 and designed by father Thomas Bouge; it is the church where all my ancestors were Baptized, Married and Buried.

My ancestors and most of the Catholic population of the village are buried in the cemetery there. A brief history of St Tierneys can be read on my friend Claire McConville's website here Rooney gravestones can be seen by clicking here .

In 2006, Myself, James Mullan, Claire McConville and Aidan Cadden transcribed the parish records for St Tierneys. The Rooney segments of these records can be seen here. All other records can be found here
