On 29th January 1883 a Patrick Rooney of corragunt and his wife catherine Mulligan gave birth to son Thomas , the child died 2 days later and Wife Catherine died 2 weeks after this.

In 1889 Patrick re married a Bridget Corr of Bunlougher. Patrick was at this time residing in Corraleek.

On 21st jan 1883 a Thomas Rooney aged 2 days died, the informant was Patrick Rooney of Corragunt.

Arthurs father was Thomas Rooney of Knocknalear. This Rooney family were known as the 'Tommy Rooneys'.

Arthur had two brothers called Michael and Hugh. In 1901 they were living nearby in the townland of Knocknalear.
